No T Rex In The Library
Tess and her mom are visiting the library. Tess has forgotten her library manners, and her mother sends her for a 10-minute Time Out. What is supposed to be a quiet time is anything but when a dinosaur leaps out of his book and starts terrorizing the library. When he starts ripping up books, Tess decides it is time to put a stop to this beastie behavior. Can she do it?
Kids will love the dinosaur and his friends and their library antics. Boys and girls both will recognize themselves in Tess.
None.
Our daughter giggled her way through this story. She loved the idea of a characters coming to life and was anxious to see who was coming next and what they were doing. She loved the idea of knights doing synchronized swimming.
This is a fun story to read. The author artfully weaves together the power of a book (and how it can transport you anywhere) and the proper behavior for the library. My only disappointment was that when you get to the end, you're not sure what really happened ... was she reading the books from the cart in Time Out or was she just imagining what she'd find in a book.
This picture book offers a story about imagination, reading, and how to behave in the library.
This is a story that lets you talk about library manners, but goes well beyond it and encourages kids to bring their books to life with their imagination.
