One Wolf Howls
Follow the pack of wolves (from 1 to 12) through the year as they hunt, play, sleep and raise their young. Beautifully illustrated with detailed watercolors, we get a glimpse into the secret lives of wolves deep in the northern forests. The end of the story is followed by pages of scientific info on the life cycle and communication signals of wolves (and more!)
The book offers gorgeous illustrations and learning at multiple levels. It is a beautiful book that will grow with the child.
None!
They LOVED the book, they loved counting the wolves, they loved investigating the pictures for the other animals to be found. My 5-year-old wanted to read it again, on his own (mostly looking at the pictures, as the text would have been too advanced for him to glean information from it).
This is one of the most beautiful books I have ever seen. I loved the pictures, a romantic insight into the lives of a wolf pack. I loved that my 3-year-old was able to count the wolves on each page. I loved that my 5-year-old learned the order of the months. And, in future years, he will learn about the life cycle of wolves (pups are born in May in the spring time, and grow as the year progresses). Eventually, we will be reading the post-text info about wolves. This is a book that will truly GROW with a child.
This is a nonfiction picture book about wolves.
There is so much you can do with this book: counting; months of the year; wolf biology, life cycle, and habitat; communication and family life of wolves. The book is packed with information and also has activities in the back.
