While easy to read, the story lacks a real punch. The story is hard to follow at times, as the author sometimes steps out of character to offer scene-setters and other external data.
There is enough historical fact to make the information valuable and memorable for kids. They just might be intrigued enough to want to learn more.
This isn't a page turner…but it could be.
