Snickerdoodle!™ A Tall Tale About A Powerful Pee-wee!

Summary:

The town's special parade is disrupted when the bank is robbed. When Snickerdoodle announces that he can save the day, the sheriff isn't the only skeptic … the bank robbers see him as no bother at all. Can Snickerdoodle really help the town?

Reader Enjoyment Factors:

The CD-book combination gives parents options for sharing the stories with their child. Preschoolers and elementary-aged children can see themselves as the Superhero, because Snickerdoodle is just their size.

Content Awareness Factors:

None, really.

Little Kid Reaction

Our preschooler has loved all the Snickerdoodle stories (and CD). We're going on nearly two weeks of routine requests for the material. Every time the CD finishes, s/he announces "that was great."

Parent Reaction

Although Snickerdoodle has worn on us, we're happy that he's keeping our child interested in his adventures. The stories are imaginative with a positive message, and our preschooler loves "reading" on his/her own.

This is the first book of this tall tale series.
Educational Themes:

Depending on the age of your audience, you can use the stories to teach self-esteem and individual worth, talk about tall tales, and maybe even play some "what would you do" scenarios (before revealing what Snickerdoodle did).
