... a story as fresh as spring.
Inside the little blue egg is a bird. Inside the egg, the bird can't do anything. BUT! When the egg hatches, the bird can walk, sing, and fly. It flies away, but will someday sit on happy eggs, too.
Parent Perspective:
A sweet story that is as much "show" as tell. The color feels like spring itself, and the action-oriented text propels the simple story. The illustrator does a brilliant job showing the passage of time by simply making the flower bigger and taller.
Toddlers will go crazy for this book, so be prepared to read it a lot. This is one to keep handy because it will be an excellent easy reader for your Kindergartener. If you prefer books to other types of gifts, consider this one in the springtime!
None.
This picture book tells the story of a bird that comes out of an egg.
After you've read the story a couple of times, let your toddler or preschooler read it to you. Because there is little text, and some of it is repetitive, they will know the story quickly. Another idea would be to ask your child to name the two characters. The story doesn't indicate gender, so every name is the right one.
