Content Awareness Factors:

Young Reader Reaction

This little book is a fine introduction to this small but vital world of insects. It has a wipe-able cover and is small enough for a small hand and an outing. It is clearly illustrated and, although not mentioned, would be good to trace the butterfly drawings so that the book is not marked. You can use the book progressively, starting with an insect youngsters would easily find on their everyday travels (i.e., home, garden, park, or street). The book should be paired with a magnifying glass, even just a small one. A good bibliography at the back is most useful- again for the home schooled. A very well thought out and planned book. I definitely recommend this book as a pocket guide gem.

This guide boo iis well written and illustrated. The projects add a nice dimension that will make the material enjoyable, as well as educational.
