BTSYA Volunteer (20):
The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey is filled with adventure, creative riddles, humor, and cliff hangers that make the book impossible to put down. Each of the children plays an important role, and the many plot twists render the story unpredictable and exciting.

This book is fun to read again and again. Each time you pick it up you you learn something new or pick up on a clue that you did not notice before. Its re-readability makes the book perfect as a gift . I  recommend pairing it with book 1 because that is where a lot of the characters are introduced.

The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey can be enjoyed by people of all ages. However, I would especially recommend this book for students in grades 5 – 7 (ages 11 – 13) who love to read about adventure and puzzles. It is a fairly long novel, but each chapter is filled with captivating events and attention-grabbing detail. In addition, the illustrations at the beginning of each chapter help to bring the plot and characters to life. If you read and enjoyed The Mysterious Benedict Society, then you will definitely want to read The Mysterious Society and the Perilous Journey!
