The Summer Of Cecily
Cecily is a baby harbor seal that was stranded on Mount Desert Island, on the coast of Maine. One morning in January, Nan Lincoln’s husband, Bob, asked her to bring the kids and come down to his boat shop for a surprise. Nan could not imagine what the surprise might be. When they got there, Bob pointed out a newborn harbor seal stranded on the rocks. Nan and the family decide to adopt “Cecily” and, for the next five months, prepare Cecily for her return to the sea.
