The Topsy-turvy Towel
Sam, Sally, and Suzy are enjoying a day at the beach. When the ocean carries away the castle they've been building, it's time to create something new. But what? They pick up their towels and they're off on great adventures.
The story is presented simply enough that your kids can take off where Sam, Suzy, and Sally left off. The activities expand the learning.
It isn't clear from the question "what do you see" if there are hidden images or if it is just a prompt for interactive reading. There are no clues in the front/back material.
Our preschooler/kindergartner loves this book. S/He has pulled it from the shelf several times. Each time reminds us to turn to the last page so s/he can tell us what to do next.
Although the story itself seems pretty bland, it engages our child in using his/her imagination and exploring the pages. The activity pages are fabulous, with easy-to-do activities that you can do together.
This is a picture book that encourages kids to use their imagination.
The story, when combined with the activity ideas in the back, make it easy to bring the themes of the book to life: use your imagination to explore. Use everyday objects in new ways; or explore new things.

Borrow, at least. Based on our child's reaction, it propels ideas and exploration in ways we (parents) may miss.
