Every reader: See and celebrate who you are!

Summary:

Word and illustration celebrate each of the things that make us who we are. The poem goes beyond our natural attributes to show how our uniqueness is part of how we fit into the bigger world.

Parent Perspective:
It is hard to say what I love most. The rhyme is spot on, both in tone and cadence. The illustrations are fabulous and allow everyone to see themselves in the images. Inclusion goes beyond race to incorporate physical attributes and challenges, like being wheelchair bound or deaf. Ultimately reminding readers that our individuality is something we all have in common!

This is a great book to read with young audiences, but an even more powerful message for teens. In addition to having affirmations at the ready on bad days, I also this as an exceptional gift choice for kids getting ready for their next chapter: elementary to middle school; middle school to high school; and even college!

Reader Enjoyment Factors:

Wonderful illustrations and exceptional rhyme come together in a picture book that reminds readers to celebrate who they are and accept the uniqueness of others around them. Young readers will want to explore the activities on each page and it is a book you're sure to read over and over.
