When the lights go out, the objects in Martin Fraidy-inski's world come to life. Curtains, toys and shadows have come to scare him. With a prayer and the help of the Angels with Attitude Gang, Martin gains the confidence to ENJOY the darkness.
Parents can use the book as a springboard for activities that help alleviate fear of the dark.

Started reading with 4-year-old child.
Buy! Although billed for 4-to-8-year-olds, this will be VERY useful for kids transitioning from a crib to a big kid's bed (usually at age 2.5 to 3)
With the first reading, our preschooler sighed and commented "this is a nice book." Needless to say, we've read it lots since then.
We enjoyed this book, too. We opted to read it first during the daytime so that the flashlight (included) didn't become a night-time distraction. It didn't take many readings before our preschooler was reading it to her scared-of-the-dark stuffed bear!
The story is easy to understand, the rhyming presentation really adds to the "comforting" theme. The flashlight (something concrete for the child) is a very thoughtful touch.
The story is interactive, including some shadow play. Depending on your child's evening delay tactics, you may want to allow extra time to get flashlight fun out of his system before lights out!
