Together! (Just Like Us Series)

Summary:

Explore together as illustrated animals spend time playing with each other. Lift the flap and watch as two animals play together in a parallel way and let kids see themselves.

Reader Enjoyment Factors:

Colorful pictures motivate toddlers to explore the pages. It's also an opportunity to show inter-racial friendships.

Content Awareness Factors:

There are unfamiliar activities that some toddlers will not understand.

Little Kid Reaction

My son liked the bright illustrations of animals. He enjoyed sitting down with the book on his own, turning the pages, and lifting the flaps. The book helped him understand how to manipulate the pages of a book.

Parent Reaction

I thought my son would have liked it more. He was not super-motivated to lift the flaps when we were reading together, but he did look at it later. Of this series, this book was my least favorite. I still liked it Okay, but some of the activities were not applicable to our household: hugging in the snow and grooming each other. That's not an activity that's common for my son and his friends.

Type of Book:
This is a book for infants and toddlers.
Educational Themes:

There are opportunities to talk about humans and animals: how are we alike? how are we different. The illustrations also model positive friendship behaviors.
