None, really. The illustrations are good, but don't really add a "wow" factor that could put the story over the top.
Our soon-to-be Kindergartner (who herself is quite nervous) was amazed that a "big kid" would be nervous about school. We have read this book several times and expect that we'll have a bunch more requests between now and when school begins next week.
At first we were confused by the "age" of the Kindergartner in the story. It wasn't long, though, that we realized that she is the Kindergarten teacher!
This is a picture book that walks children through the night before school and offers a twist on the concept of getting ready for their first day of Kindergarten.
This is a book to read in the week before school starts. Its an opportunity to help ease anxiety, answer questions, and give them confidene.
