Who Ate My Socks?

Summary:

There is only one monster big enough to eat all of the socks that we wear in our family. So what do you do when the monster takes just one of each pair … and turns all of them pink!

Reader Enjoyment Factors:

The story is fun, with a theme that adults more than young children (since they don't often do laundry) will enjoy. The illustrations are colorful.

Content Awareness Factors:

None.

Little Kid Reaction

Our preschooler loved the colorful, creative footwear illustrated in the book. S/He went running to change into a favorite pair right in the middle of our reading. We got lots of requests for this one.

Parent Reaction

This is a fun story that mixes the legend of the clothes-eating monster and the humor of having lots of unmatched socks. The story will be predictable after the first reading, but it's still fun.

Type of Book:
This is a picture book that feeds on the legend of how misfit socks come to be.
Educational Themes:

You could stretch this one to teach kids about the laundry, but it's really just a fun read.
