Wiggle And Move (Baby Gym Series)
Interactive rhymes with instructions encourage a child's movement in these rhymes.
Young Listener (1.5 years):
We already knew several of the rhymes, which are very popular with my son. He always laughs. In addition, he would sit down with the book on his own to flip through the colorful pages. He wasn't as interested in the rhymes if the movement wasn't being performed, too.
Parent Perspective:
Stimulation is a key learning element for young infants. I love the rhymes and interactive play in this book. Since I knew the rhymes already, the book was a hindrance to my interactions. I would LOVE it for a new parent.
This is a great book to share with infants from newborn to 1 year and beyond. The sturdy pages are designed to handle lots of reading. The colorful illustrations and interactive rhymes encourage "hands-on" reading.
Once you know the rhyme, it is not as useful for interactive reading. The rhymes are not as interesting when they are read. They need to be acted out.
Parent activity ideas complements this collection of classic nursery rhymes and songs.
This is a great tool for a new parent learning how to interact with an infant at a stage in the child's life where rhythm, limb movement, and eye contact are critical for brain development.
