yes we can!

Summary:
Three animal friends challenge each other to do something that another animal can do quite well. When they find they cannot do it, the other two laugh at them. Instead of having fun, everyone is mad. When a mom comes along, she shows them that they are each good at something just not everything.
Educational Themes:
This is a book that lends itself to discussions about how we treat people. The story makes it very easy for kids to see what happens when they laugh or make fun of others, especially if they are trying to learn something new.

Little Kid Reaction
She like the ending when they all figure out they can do some things really well. She did not like that they laughed at each other. It made her feel bad for the animal getting laughed at. Our child picked out this book, but didn't want to read it after the first time.
Big Kid Reaction
Although the book does bring up good points for discussion, I did not like how they made fun of each other. I thought it could have been written better to show how words and laughing can hurt people. I was surprised my daughter did not especially like the book. Some of it was funny but she was too upset that they were laughing at each other to really enjoy the story.
Pros:

This picture book helps children understand that you dont have to have only friends just like you.

Cons:

I wish the book would have taken the animals laughing at each other and addressed it better.
