You Read To Me, I'll Read To You! Very Short Mother Goose Tales To Read Together
Using a dialogue format, some of Mother Goose's friends retell their stories.
The collection brings some nursery rhymes up to current times, and adds some surprising endings to them all. There is all-round utility, whether in a classroom or at home.
Absolutely none. We hope there are more revised nursery rhymes in the future.
Our preschooler doesn't yet read, but thoroughly enjoyed the dialogue. Being quite the literalist, it took several rhymes before she understood that the "new" ending was Okay, too.
This was fun to read. We can't wait until our preschooler can read along … or that we've read it so much s/he knows her part!
This is a storybook that transforms nursery tales into two-part rhyming skits/scenes.
The book's format introduces the idea of dialogue, opening the door to let kids try their hand at changing other much-loved stories to this format, or in pushing them to create new endings for other Mother Goose rhymes and other stories. A simple "what if ..." will get things started.
