Thursday Blurb Bonus: Poem In My Pocket Day

If you’ve been hanging out in the blogosphere today, then you know it’s national Poem In Your Pocket Day! A very fun, gregarious way to celebrate poetry.  I’ve been enjoying all of the great poems – remembering some fondly and learning about new poets, too. Like Karsyn, who is in the fourth grade at the Silver Star School.

And guess what arrived in today’s mail just in time for today’s celebration a poetry postcard from Vancouver, Washington.  This is a project spearheaded by Jone MacCulloch. Each year, as part of her National Poetry Month celebration, Jone’s students write an original poem on a postcard, and then they mail them to those of us (me!) who requested one.

I love my new poem about soccer!

Thanks Karsyn.

I wish I was as good a photographer as you are an artist & poet.
