Tuesday Blurb: The Sound of One Hand Clapping
… or in this case typing.
Yours truly was making herself a smoothie yesterday and lets just say didn’t exercise her usual safety practices. As a result, the top of my right index finger is sporting a dozen stitches.
Typing with one hand is neither ideal nor fun ,,, unless you like funny new words crafted with typoms, so things will be a bit quiet around here.
Leave it to the 9YO to dub this the “hand shake” incident!
“Mom, you were making a hand smoothie … get it? A smoothie with your hand?”
The other silver lining: she’s reading to me while I “rest.”
Look for lots of reading in next month’s list!!!

Ouch! Sorry to read this Terry, but it’s quite clear you haven’t lost your sense of humour!
Thanks Susan … Yes, things will sound like one hand clapping around here for a bit. The finger is really starting to itch and stitches come out later this week … but it’ll be a while before that finger is back in full use. In the meantime I’m now teaching the other digits on the right hand how to type. Thank goodness I’m left handed!
Oh no! I’m so sorry to hear about this. But I do have to say I wish I had as much wit as your 9yo! The hand shake is awesome.
Feel better soon!
Thanks Michelle … and she loves telling everyone about my “hand shake” or my “hand smoothie” (as in making a smoothie by/with my hand.” I can’t drink a smoothie now without laughing!
